We are currently seeking to hire an Industrial Electrician that will support our Brampton and Hamilton production facilities.

Refrigeration Class B license/ experience is a significant asset.

The Position Details:

Type: Full Time

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Compensation: $35-$43 per hour depending on experience.

Position type: Hourly \xe2\x80\x93 Full-time

Environment: Meat Production

Regular Hours: 8 hours per day. The plant runs production from 7 AM to 11 PM. 2 shifts. Weekend days may be required. hours may vary as per workload

Purpose:

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for various tasks related to electrical systems and equipment specific to food production facilities. Experience working at 600V is required.

Accountabilities and Detailed Activity:

  • As an Industrial Electrician within our food production supply chain company, your responsibilities encompass the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electrical systems and equipment crucial to our operations. This includes visually inspecting machinery to identify wear and tear, damage, or suboptimal conditions. Be vigilant for loose connections, leaks, corrosion, or any indicators of potential issues. Analyze maintenance history to uncover recurring problems, breakdowns, or maintenance practices affecting machinery performance and efficiency. This scope covers motors, generators, transformers, lighting systems, control panels, and other electrical components.
  • Utilize your troubleshooting skills to identify and diagnose electrical problems. Employ diagnostic tools and techniques to isolate the root causes of issues and devise effective solutions for minimal downtime and maximal productivity.
  • Swiftly repair or replace defective components. Address faulty electrical elements by rewiring circuits, replacing switches or relays, or repairing damaged connections to swiftly restore functionality.
  • Install and configure electrical control systems while assessing existing infrastructure. Evaluate the current electrical setup\'s capacity and suitability for integrating new equipment.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with engineers and fellow technicians to install and configure electrical control systems, motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other industrial automation equipment. Ensure precise wiring, programming, and seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols: Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices to minimize the risk of accidents or electrical hazards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of electrical maintenance and repair activities. Document work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced. Provide reports as required to supervisors or management.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations: Keep abreast of industry advancements, electrical code changes, and emerging technologies.
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:

Education and/or Professional Designation: \xc2\xb7 Ontario Certificate of Apprenticeship \xc2\xb7 Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario

Experience: \xc2\xb7 Must be a certified 442A Industrial Electrician,

Refrigeration Experience- Class B is an asset.

Working in a Food Production facility @ Industrial Scale is an asset.
