Job Description

Position: Industrial Draftsperson / Glass and Building Designer
Location: West Island
Are you a talented and creative draftsperson with experience in designing with aluminum and glass, flush glazing, curtain wall, cladding, and showers? Do you have a strong knowledge of AutoCAD (DWG) and 3D Inventor? If you have a passion for creating high-quality indoor glasswork for storefronts and office fronts, we want you to join our expanding team.
Requirements:
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Industrial Drafting or a Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, with a specialization in creating and installing quality indoor glasswork for storefronts and office fronts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (DWG) and 3D Inventor for creating detailed drawings and designs
- Ability to calculate dimensions and material requirements
- Experience working with aluminum and glass, flush glazing, curtain wall, cladding, and showers
- Innovative problem-solving skills using glass, wood, and various types of metals
- Ability to design storefront systems and office front entrances
- Ensure that final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
Responsibilities:
- Generate workshop drawings based on plans, specifications, and other required documents for the fabrication of curtain walls, architectural panels, and more
- Capture 3D geometry of structures to take measurements on-site using a Leica laser scanner
- Work closely with various stakeholders using Inventor, AutoCAD, and CloudWorx
- Participate in engineering, project management, and project tracking meetings
- Determine the special materials required for product fabrication
- Perform 3D modeling from the database and 2D drawings
- Create 3D components for glass hardware to build a database of various assemblies
- Produce as-built plans once projects are completed
