Kaynic Construction is seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Concrete Carpenter to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB. This role specializes in concrete formwork and construction within the oil and gas, Mill construction and maintenance sectors. As an Industrial Concrete Carpenter, you will construct, install, and maintain formwork systems, ensure high-quality concrete placement, perform foundation layout, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities



Construction and Formwork: Construct, erect, and install formwork systems for concrete foundations, columns, walls, slabs, and stairs, ensuring precision and quality. Foundation Layout: Perform foundation layout, including accurate installation of anchor bolts and embeds, to meet project specifications and structural requirements. Concrete Work: Assist with concrete pouring, finishing, and reinforcement installation (e.g., rebar and wire mesh), using tools such as trowels, screeds, and concrete saws. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to set elevations and layout formwork according to project plans. Safety Compliance: Adhere to Kaynic's Health and Safety Manual, Workers' Compensation Board standards, and OH&S regulations, promoting a positive safety culture with a target of zero incidents. Complete task hazard assessments and maintain a clean, organized work area. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with carpenters, finishers, laborers, and other trades, demonstrating teamwork and communication skills to meet project timelines and quality standards. General Duties: Perform general labor tasks, site cleanup, and other duties as required, including working with or near chemicals, cranes, and heavy equipment.
Requirements

Journeyperson Carpenter certification (Red Seal preferred) , 4th Year Apprentice status or proven equivalent experience. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial concrete construction, with expertise in formwork, grade beams, framing, foundation layout, and concrete finishing. Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation. CSO, WHMIS 2015, First Aid, and H2S certifications are assets. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications. Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials specific to concrete construction and formwork, including anchor bolt and embed installation. Strong physical stamina, including the ability to lift over 50 lbs continuously, bend, crouch, kneel, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and time management. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, accepting direction from supervisors. Consistent punctuality, reliability, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, if required. Steel-toed safety boots and standard PPE required.
