Community Electric Ltd. (CEL) is a Western-Canada Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor with branches from BC to Manitoba. CEL specializes in Electrical Construction in Industrial, Process, Agricultural, and Commercial industries including Preventative Maintenance and Service.
Red Deer has been announced as our newest branch location, so we are looking to build our branch with local employees.
We are currently looking for electricians (Apprentices & Journeypersons) in Red Deer, AB for industrial projects and service maintenance work located throughout Alberta. The ideal candidates will have experience in an industrial or commercial background and posses good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Position Overview
Project tasks could include but are not limited to working outdoors in all weather elements, working from heights, physical labour, underground installations (trenching), pulling/strapping cable, cable terminations, installation of cable trays, motor control centers, PLC terminations, motor terminations and controls, Lighting/Distribution/Fire Alarm installations. Experience with Ridgid Conduit will be considered an asset.

Journeyperson's Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Leading 1-4 people on the jobsite
Complete daily reports with accurate descriptions of work and material used
Understand and complete all safety paperwork for daily tasks.
Participating in safety meetings, toolbox meetings and ensuring training certificates (including client orientation) are kept up to date with the safety department
Work with Project Managers and Site Foreman to make a construction schedule and material list
Read and understand prints and schematics, and Red-Line prints for an As-Built set for customer
Understand and complete QAQC documents
Understanding legal roles and responsibilities, taking Training locally
Must be responsible for materials, tools, and appropriate paperwork.
Can work and coordinate with other trades, general contractors, owners, and engineers.
Perform work safely and comply with provincial, company and site-specific safety rules and regulations.
Ideal Journeypersons would posses the following:
An Electrical Journeyperson or Red Seal certificate
Experience in an industrial construction background
Self-motivated and can motivate others to maintain schedules and production
Ability to plan work, take directions and work well with others
Possess good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Applicants with valid fall protection, aerial platform and first aid certificates are preferred.
Willingness to travel to out-of-town projects, have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Apprentice Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Taking direction and assisting Journeyperson or more senior Apprentices as directed by the foreman or supervisor
Understand and complete all safety paperwork for daily tasks.
Complete customer safety paperwork if required
Complete Short Term Interval Plan with PM
Make accurate material lists for upcoming tasks
Achieving daily goals for team
Attend safety meetings, toolbox meetings and ensure training certificates (including client orientation) are kept up to date with the safety department
Apprentice candidates would posses the following:
Indentured in an Electrical Trades program for
2nd year or higher.
Experience in an industrial or commercial background
Self-motivated and can motivate others to maintain schedules and production
Ability to take directions and work well with others
Possess good organizational and communication skills
Applicants with valid fall protection, aerial platform and first aid certificates are preferred.
Willingness to travel to out-of-town projects, and a valid drivers license is an asset.
Wage will be relative to training and experience
