Industrial Cleaner (Term)

Location: Holyrood



You will perform a wide range of general and detailed plant cleaning work at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station including performing Type 1 and limited Type II asbestos abatement and removal in accordance with the plant Asbestos Management Plan and Provincial/OHS Regulations. You are required to operate mobile equipment such as sky jacks and similar lift/access equipment, within the context of plant cleaning. You will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces as well as all other duties related to or associated with this classification.



You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company\'s Safety and Health Program and for environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.



You have graduated high school and have experience with and/or the completion of supplementary course work related to asbestos abatement. Training in fall protection, respirator use and fit testing, WHMIS and Confined Space Entry would be considered an asset. Experience in the operation of lift equipment and floor scrubbers is also preferred. You must be able to use a half face respirator. You have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and possess an appropriate valid driver\'s license.
