Job Summary



Under supervision of the Indoor Arenas Supervisor, this position performs required work involving the operation and maintenance of an indoor arena facility.

Duties & Responsibilities


Maintains the indoor arena facility to predetermined standards for cleaning, safety and programming (e.g. cleaning dressing rooms, washing sinks and toilets), snow clearing, custodial sweeping bleacher areas making/maintaining ice conditions. Operates required equipment such as ice resurfacer, ice edger, floor cleaner. Responds to requests from staff, user groups and the public in the facility to ensure that program needs are being met. Report any facility issues to the appropriate supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education, Training and Experience Requirements


Grade 12 education. Three months related arena experience. Possession of, or ability to obtain SPRA Level 1 Arena Certificate or equivalent Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence. Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid and CPR certificate.



Knowledge, Abilities and Skills


Knowledge of the operation used for ice maintenance such as ice resurfacer, and ice edger. Knowledge of the materials, practices and equipment used in cleaning and maintaining a public facility and work area. Ability to deal courteously, tactfully and effectively with the public. Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.

Requires Security Check


Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment.

Additional Requirements



Evening and weekend work is involved.

Weekly Hours:

Determined by the department

Salary Range:

$19.64 to $21.66 CAD

per hour

(2025 rates)
