Athabasca University's Learning Services Tutorial Department is seeking an Individualized Study Tutorfor the following course:
ENGL 460: The Ecological Imagination
Qualifications and Experience Required:
A minimum of a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in English, Comparative Literature, or Literary Studies, with specific expertise and/or experience in ecocriticism, literature and the environment, and/or the environmental humanities.
The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise and be responsible for providing academic assistance to students, providing feedback on assignments that may take the form of essays or other media, working with students to facilitate their learning goals (using "ungrading" strategies), recording final grades, advising the course coordinator of problems with the course, and working with the coordinator to address student learning issues as necessary.Teaching experience at a post-secondary level is required.Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies and online course delivery is preferred.Experience with adult education and Brightspace online course delivery is considered an asset.
Along with the relevant academic credentials as mentioned above, this position requires excellent communication, organizational, administration and online/computer skills.The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to maintain a high academic standard, maintain accurate student records, and return students' work promptly and within the University's required service standards.Candidates must own or have access to a computer and internet with the capability to communicate with the University and students and the capability to run any applications required to perform tutorial support.

Non-doctoral prepared employees: $243.25 prorated per block, per biweekly pay.
Doctoral prepared employees: $252.98 prorated per block, per biweekly pay.
