The Indigenous Projects Team (IPT) at RJC is a team of culturally-sensitive, emotionally intelligent practitioners with a focus on work with First Nations and Indigenous Led Organizations. We strive to collaboratively deliver projects in alignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Call to Action #92. Our team's work is focused on housing, disaster recovery, climate adaptation, support of Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area development, and educational support and outreach. At all times, we are committed to meaningful consultation, building respectful relationships, and obtaining the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous peoples for our projects.

Candidate Profile
The IPT Project Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, assessment and design of existing and new residential, commercial and industrial structures. The successful candidate has knowledge of Canada's historical context with Indigenous peoples and is comfortable engaging with First Nations clients and organizations in a respectful manner, communicating with community leaders and contractors, and working on active construction sites. A commitment to providing first-rate client service and technical excellence with a two-eyed seeing perspective and from a base of empathetic understanding to deliver practical, creative, and holistic solutions is essential. An inquisitive outlook, a hard worker who listens readily, quickly assumes responsibility, and is a team player who has the ability to work independently with minimum direction are traits that are required to be successful in this role.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $85,000 (Dependent on experience)
