Reporting to the Manager, Nisohkamatotan Programs and Services, the Indigenous Liaison Specialist is responsible for implementing and providing services, resources and activities designed to increase the recruitment and retention rates of First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students. This position will support the programming and activities of the Nisohkamatotan Centre in order to promote student academic and personal success. Major areas of responsibility include student advising, supporting programs such as the IGNITE Program, Indigenous Student Ambassador Program, and Elder Services, and contributing to Indigenous awareness at NAIT. All Centre staff are responsible for establishing and supporting a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for all students and staff, as well as visitors to the Nisohkamatotan Centre.
