At the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN), we are committed to fostering community growth and advancement while honouring our traditions and customs in the workplace. Our Health and Wellness Division delivers holistic family wellness, community wellness, and counselling programs that support and strengthen the wellbeing of YKDFN members. We are currently seeking an organized, dependable, and community-minded individual to join our team as:



Indigenous Early Learning Development Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness, the IELDC will lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of Early Learning initiatives. This includes creating and enhancing post-secondary and professional learning opportunities to support access to quality Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) programming within YKDFN.



The ideal candidate will have:




Experience working with, and/or the ability to learn, Indigenous knowledge of program delivery options and methodologies. Knowledge of NWT early learning and childcare frameworks. Strong computer skills with various software applications. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.




Qualifications:




Diploma in Early Childhood Education or post-secondary education in a related field; or An equivalent combination of education and training, plus at least four (4) years of experience in program development with children and families; Current Child First Aid/CPR Certification; and Up-to-date immunizations.
