Job Description

As a member of the Health Care Team, the Indigenous Culture Facilitator provides activity programming for residents of


long term care facilities that focuses on traditional Indigenous culture, teachings, sacred teachings, and lifestyle; to


maintain functioning in their physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being and enhances their quality of life. The


activity programming must follow the Recreation Standards approved by Manitoba Licensing and Compliancy Branch for


Personal Care Homes, but must also be primarily focused on Indigenous living, traditional living, and ensuring continuity


of lifestyle from home to facility in the Indigenous setting.





QUALIFICATIONS



• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Food Handlers Certificate or obtain within three (3) months of commencing employment
• Serve it Better Certificate or obtain within three (3) months of commencing employment
• Valid Manitoba Class V driver's license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year round
• Certification in PIECES or obtain at first available opportunity
• Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
• Satisfactory employment record required
• Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
