Under the direction of the Manager, Career Education, the primary responsibilities of this position will be to administer and market the Indigenous Career Education office to Indigenous students at the University of Regina. This position will also be responsible for the Faculty of Arts Co-op program.




What You'll Do:



Developing and maintaining positive relationships with current employers, including Indigenous focused employers; Actively marketing the Indigenous Co-op/Internship program to new employers and recruitment of Indigenous students into these programs; Engaging with Indigenous students on the University of Regina campus and First Nations University; Marketing and administering the Faculty of Arts Co-op program; Recruiting for and coordination of the Full-Circle Summer Internship program; Conducting student/employer job site evaluations; Creating and delivering public presentations to respective stakeholders; Counseling and advising students on Co-op/Internship and other employment related matters; Acting as a liaison between the Indigenous Career Education Office and the Centre for Experiential and Service Learning (CESL), and the ta-tawaw Student Centre, First Nations University and the Office of Indigenous Engagement;

Position Requirements

What You'll Bring to this Position:

Bachelor degree in any discipline is required; 2-4 years direct related experience; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.





Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:


Knowledge of Indigenous culture; advanced communication skills developed via working within Indigenous environments; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Previous experience as a University of Regina Co-op/Internship student (previous Full-Circle Summer Internship students are highly encouraged to apply); or experience in marketing and human resource management are definite assets; An excellent understanding of the Centre for Experiential and Service Learning (CESL) and Career Education as well as the Co-op and Internship programs at the University of Regina; Demonstrated experience working in complex databases such as, but not limited to Banner and Caspur would be an asset; Knowledge of Indigenous Career Education at the University of Regina and First Nations University; Strong knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, issues and labour market trends; Familiarity with the labour market in Saskatchewan and Alberta especially, but also nationwide; Experience counseling, advising and mentoring students; Experience working with international students is a strong asset; A background in career counseling would be a strong asset; Exceptional presentation skills; Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; Demonstrated ability to work independently; Highly organized and an effective time manager; Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, travel within and outside the province and country when required; Valid Class 5 Driver's License is a strong asset as travel will be required; As this is a preference posting for Indigenous People, internal equity and then external equity applicants may be considered prior to internal non-equity applicants as per the APT Collective Agreement.
Physical Demands
Light lifting at times, helping with Career Fair set-up, etc.
Pay Grade APT 5 Salary Range $71,745 - $96,825 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours
8:15am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Some travel required. Please note: This is not a "work from home" position. No work from home options apply to this role.
