We are excited to welcome a facilitator to deliver synchronous sessions for the

Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Skills Certificate

at Stenberg College. The PPD program introduces students to foundational skills in

equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity (EDII)

. This role will focus specifically on

Module 4: Indigenous Gender Diversity and Responding to Anti-Indigenous Racism

.



The facilitator will provide students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion, apply knowledge through case studies, and learn directly from an Indigenous professional with lived experience.

respond to anti-Indigenous racism

. It ensures our graduates enter healthcare and human services with greater respect, cultural humility, and awareness skills that are essential to the professions they are preparing to join.


Key Responsibilities




Facilitate

Module 4: Indigenous Gender Diversity and Responding to Anti-Indigenous Racism

within the PPD program. Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Share lived experience and expertise as an

Indigenous person (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit)

to enhance student learning. Guide students through case studies and discussion to connect course content to real-world practice, particularly in healthcare and human services. Support Stenberg's ongoing commitment to EDII in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications




Required




Indigenous identity: First Nations, Metis, or Inuit. Experience as a facilitator, educator, or trainer. Expertise in issues related to Indigenous Peoples, with a focus on

gender diversity

and

anti-Indigenous racism

. Knowledge of Indigenous experiences in healthcare and human services. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse student groups.

Preferred




Experience in post-secondary or adult education. Familiarity with equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks.

Terms of Engagement




Contract, sessional position.

Each session is approximately

2 hours

. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Reports to the

Manager, People and Culture

, in consultation with the

EDI Advisor

.
