The Location

Four Seasons Resort Whistler is located at the foot of Blackcomb and Whistler. The resort is a five-minute walk to the ski lifts and a 10-minute stroll to the village center, making it the perfect location for a rustic adventure any time of year.

Our guest rooms are spacious, beautifully re-styled in December, 2019, the refurbished rooms and suites pay close attention to the unique placement of Whistler \xe2\x80\x93 a secluded retreat, just an hour and a half away from the international destination of Vancouver.

In December 2020, we completed a property-wide enhancement with the launch of Braidwood Tavern, a craft kitchen and social house conceived in collaboration with celebrated chef and restauranteur Richard Sandoval, along with a re-imagined SIDECUT Steakhouse, both designed by Box Interior Design.

Your job:

Use courteous and efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest\'s order.

Record covers, handle special orders, check for out-of-stock items, obtain the specials for the day.

Operate the micros for order taking (while supporting core), check printing, closing out checks and printing reports.

Maintain knowledge of all menus (including Daily Specials, Alternative Cuisine, wine list, etc.) and of the service of food and beverage items offered by the department and the hotel.

The ability to upsell to guests as well as confirm their order before thanking them.

Record all guest charges, gratuities and cash transactions accurately.

Coordinate between the server and kitchen for smooth, coordinating service.

Ensure that all amenity requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion.

The ability to assume responsibility for a house float (if applicable) and follow all operating procedures regarding the float.

The ability to support Supervisors in being able to check all orders for its accuracy and standards, thus meeting expectations

Document void checks, house charges, complete SR-5 and file the supporting documents for audit purposes.

Assist in the training of new staff, through documents, induction, necessary information.

Control the cleanliness in the Room Service area.

Inform the Room Service Manager of all customer complaints and make appropriate efforts to correct the problem.

Maintain a Room Service control sheet and room service pick-up sheets, so the Room Service Manager knows when an order was taken, delivered and retrieved and by whom.

Assist the servers with setting up orders.

The ability to oversee the department when no management is present, and relatively respond or report to issues

The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation

All other tasks assigned

As our hotel is open 24/7, 365 days a year, we expect our Guest Services Attendant to be flexible in working mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.

About You:

Previous experience in customer service

6 months experience in Food & Beverage is prefered, but not required

Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

Knowledge of food, wine and spirits

Mathematical skills

Computer skills considered an asset

Excellent commitment to service

Ability to work in Canada
