Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and enhancing their quality of life. The Support Worker will work closely with individuals requiring patient care, including seniors and those with disabilities or acute bowl obstruction.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in recreational programs Document care provided and report any concerns to healthcare professionals

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care preferred Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is highly desirable Strong caregiving skills, including meal preparation and medication administration Ability to perform cleaning tasks effectively while maintaining a hygienic environment Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $19.24 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
