Job Summary

The Image Desk Appraiser is responsible for reviewing and auditing collision repair estimates written by estimators across multiple company locations. This role ensures estimating accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards, OEM repair procedures, and insurer guidelines. The Image Desk Appraiser plays a critical role in improving estimate quality, reducing supplements, and driving consistent performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Review collision repair estimates from multiple locations for accuracy, completeness, and consistency Identify estimating inaccuracies including labor operations, part usage, repair vs. replace decisions, and missing or overlooked procedures Ensure proper application of labour times, refinish operations, materials, and sublet charges Verify inclusion of OEM-required repair procedures and position statements Confirm compliance with company standards, insurer requirements, and DRP guidelines Review estimates within industry-standard estimating systems (e.g., Mitchell, Audatex, or equivalent) Provide clear, constructive feedback to estimators and location management Proactively identify opportunities to reduce supplements, rework, and cycle time Track estimating trends and recurring issues to support training and continuous improvement Maintain documentation and reporting related to estimate reviews Stay current on OEM repair standards, estimating system updates, and industry best practices
Qualifications

5-7 years of experience

in automotive collision repair estimating or appraisal (minimum requirement) Advanced knowledge of collision repair processes, materials, and repair methodologies Proficiency with industry estimating systems (Mitchell, Audatex, or equivalent) Strong working knowledge of OEM repair procedures and insurer requirements Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage workload across multiple locations and meet deadlines
