Position Overview:

The

Infrastructure IT Manager

is responsible for leading and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems. This role oversees servers, storage, networking, cloud platforms, data centers, disaster recovery, backups, and endpoint technologies. The Infrastructure IT Manager also manages vendor relationships, leads infrastructure projects, enforces cybersecurity standards, and provides strategic direction to align IT services with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities




Infrastructure Operations & Management

Oversee the daily operations of servers, storage, network, and cloud platforms (on-prem and hybrid environments). Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT infrastructure. Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes. Monitor system performance, capacity, and security.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and develop the IT infrastructure team, ensuring continuous skill development. Collaborate with application, MES, cybersecurity, and helpdesk teams to ensure smooth IT operations. Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to optimize efficiency.

Security & Compliance

Implement and enforce security best practices, policies, and procedures. Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure protection against threats, vulnerabilities, and ransomware. Ensure compliance with organizational, legal, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR, SOC, etc.).

Strategic Planning & Project Management

Develop long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals. Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and hardware/software lifecycle management. Lead IT infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Vendor & Budget Management

Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, licenses, and service-level agreements. Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, optimizing cost efficiency.

Please note, this position may require travel between CpK locations (Windsor, Guelph, Port Hope, Belleville).



Required Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred). 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role. Strong hands-on knowledge of servers, networks, virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and storage technologies. Proven experience with disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity planning. Solid understanding of IT security practices, firewalls, VPN, intrusion prevention, and compliance frameworks. Experience managing vendor contracts and IT budgets. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills



Experience in manufacturing/production IT environments. Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (e.g., Plex, SAP, Oracle). IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft Azure). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
