About You



Education Required:

B.Sc. in Chemistry or any scientific/engineering discipline, or a minimum of a 2-year Technician/Technology Diploma and three years experience in a commercial laboratory

Requirements:



1) Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and drive

3) Technical competence in ICP-OES

4) Strong computer knowledge and skills

5) Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

6) Demonstrate common sense, strong organizational and prioritizing skills

7) Ability to work as a team member, work well unsupervised

Responsibilities:



The following responsibilities may include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the Supervisor and Process Owner:

Attending training sessions, learning and sharing knowledge and skill in ICP-OES instrumental analysis Performing cleaning, optimization, calibration of the ICP-OES as needed and instructed in procedure QOP/QCPs. Analyzing client samples on ICP-OES as planned by Supervisor on daily basis Maintenance of equipment in working order and required logs, files, etc., for area of testing Disposal of analyzed samples and instrument waste Preparing solutions for calibration and optimization of ICP-OES Updating status in Support for lab jobs and instrument runs that have been processed. Following scheduling, using State of Operation along with Supervisor instruction to complete daily production works Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets Actlabs clients' requirements by working overtime when required Training of new personnel in instrument operation when needed Assist in maintaining departmental housekeeping Foster and maintain a positive environment by ensuring that all employees are treated with respect, grievances are dealt with in a timely manner, and communication with employees ensures quality performance by the laboratory. Compliance with ALL safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used
