We are seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator for an LNG construction project in Squamish BC.




You will be an integral part of the LBLNG team who prides themselves on safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating in accordance with quality, safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

Driving the hydrovac truck (standard transmission) safely on a busy construction site Safely operate the hydrovac equipment Perform inspections, general checks and ongoing basic maintenance of the hydrovac truck and equipment Conduct relevant safety paperwork and reporting such as daily field level hazard assessments for all activities Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

Minimum 3+ years of experience on heavy civil construction projects Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision Successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing Valid Class 3 Driver's License with a clean 3-year abstract Ability to drive standard/manual transmission is required Class 1 license is an asset CSTS-2020 or Site Ready BC

Work Conditions:

Experienced applicants that reside in Squamish or surrounding areas will be given preference due to the location of this project 14 days on / 7 days off rotational shift, 10-12 hour work days Onsite accommodation provided Travel allowance / flights provided from approved locations

Compensation


$36.83 - $43.51
This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.


Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.

Additional Information


Woodfibre Management Ltd, a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is spearheading the Woodfibre LNG Project, a proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility currently in the pre-construction phase. Situated near Squamish, British Columbia, on the site of a former pulp mill, the project is a collaboration between Woodfibre LNG and Pacific Canbriam Energy, both subsidiaries of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited. Notably, the project has secured environmental approvals from the B.C. and Canadian governments, as well as from the Squamish Nation. This initiative, recognized as the first-ever environmental approval by an Indigenous people in the absence of a treaty, highlights Woodfibre's commitment to responsible and inclusive development. The facility aims to leverage low-emission Canadian natural gas, meeting high demand in countries transitioning from coal to natural gas for its environmental benefits. Through the use of renewable hydro-electricity, the project strives to become the world's lowest-emission LNG export facility.
