Hydrovac Operator

The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the hydro-excavation units in our rapidly expanding fleet. You'll need to bring your AMAZING attitude and work ethic to the table to fit into this tight crew of operators. For the right candidate your attitude and values matter most, your experience is an asset.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Perform daily pre/post-trip inspections along with routine maintenance &/or minor repairs on equipment as required. Be aware of & follow all local, provincial, and federal rules & regulations set out by CVSE & the MVA. Operate equipment safely & efficiently to meet deadlines & accomplish customer satisfaction. Completion of daily paperwork (fuel logs, billing, timesheets, hazard assessments, etc.). Use smartphones to text, call, receive documents & images, email, and GPS to/from job sites all over Vancouver Island, BC. Maintain open communication and work with people from all backgrounds, with different personalities, to establish and build relationships quickly and professionally. Observe & comply with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

Positive attitude, good values, and a competitive spirit. Valid BC Class 1 or 3 manual licence with air-brake endorsement, along with your own reliable transportation to/from work. Previous experience with Hydrovacs, Vacuum trucks, or any industry relevant experience. *Preferred, we are willing to train the right candidates that match the attitude and values of our current team.
Willing to be on call during the week as well as occasional evenings & weekends. Must possess and exhibit a strong safety & environmental focus. Problem-solving skills along with a strong attention to detail and punctuality. Be a team player, show a strong work ethic, and work well on your own. Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly.

Salary Information

$28-$32/hr Starting wage, depending on applicant's experience and attitude. Overtime paid after 8hrs/daily, 40hrs/weekly, and on weekend call-outs.
