AMC Telecom is a telecommunications contractor located in Calgary, AB., Greater Vancouver & Vancouver Island, BC. Our dynamic team of industry experts and accredited personnel are specialized in the design, installation, and maintenance of technology systems. Established in 2016, we are a commercial telecommunication contractor, that provides a diverse range of services to our clients that includes Splicing, Civil Work, HVAC Services, Fiber Optics Installation and maintenance.

We are looking for a HVAC Operator to join our Civil work team. The new hire will be expected to work outdoors with our team of experienced technicians, across our Alberta sites, which extend from the greater Calgary area, to Reddeer, and Lacombe. Any and all transport and accommodations will be organised by the company. The new hire will receive complete and formal training by our team. Any required certificates for work will also be organised by the company.

Experience in HVAC commercial vehicle is required. Construction, ground disturbance, locates, and directional drilling experience an asset. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

Duties

Safely operate hydrovac truck and equipment for excavation, trenching, and daylighting activities. Use high-pressure water and vacuum systems to expose underground utilities without damage. Drive the hydrovac unit to and from job sites in accordance with OHS regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks on the vehicle. Complete all required documentation, such as job reports, hazard assessments, and logs. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, confined space entry, and traffic control measures. Maintain communication with site supervisors, customers, and other team members. Assist with setting up safety zones including signs, cones, and barriers. Keep the vehicle clean and ensure equipment is stored and maintained properly.

Requirements

5+ years experience in HVAC required. Valid Class 3 licence or valid Class 5 licence with air brake endorsement. Clean driving record with a minimum of 1-2 years of commercial driving experience. Knowledge of underground utility locating and safe digging practices is a plus. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions. Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites. Willingness to travel and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Pay: $48.00-$65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
