About this position:
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for the position of Hydrogeologist to support the Water Resources team at EDI, available through any of our offices. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for hydrogeology project design/coordination, field data collection, report writing, and communication with clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with mining hydrogeology projects from pre-feasibility, through baseline, and long-term monitoring
for operations and post-closure. You will have experience with hydrogeologic testing, data analysis, reporting, and the regulatory environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * Lead and complete hydrogeological investigations of groundwater and groundwater/surface water systems for environmental assessments for large-scale regional and local hydrogeological and environmental assessments and regulatory surface and groundwater monitoring programs.
  • Design and implement a wide range of technical programs, including drilling investigations, groundwater well installation, aquifer and slug tests, packer-testing, well instrumentation, and monitoring programs.
  • Analyze and interpret hydrogeological information and prepare hydrogeological technical reports for
submission to clients and regulators. * Manage projects and/or supporting other project managers, including project timelines, scope and budget management.
  • Supporting business development efforts, including proposal writing.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
We are looking for someone with: * Experience and familiarity with hydrogeology issues and regulations in the Mining Sector in BC and Yukon.
  • Proven work history (min 5 years) of consulting experience, demonstrating your ability to deliver exceptional results and work effectively in a client-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience to tackle complex hydrogeological challenges.
  • Ability to manage field documentation, analyze data and reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal skills and exceptional time management skills.
  • Willingness to foster a professional, productive, and growth-minded work environment.
  • Familiarity with common groundwater and other relevant software is an asset (eg: GoldSim, MODFLOW, AquiferTest, AQUACHEM, Leapfrog, R/RStudio).
Job requirements include: * A degree in geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering, or a related discipline, along with a minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience including field experience in Canada.
  • A graduate degree specializing in hydrogeology would be an asset.
  • Eligibility as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Class 5 driver\'s licence
  • Willingness to travel for field work in western Canada.
  • Participating proactively in EDI\'s health and safety program.
