Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Hydraulic Technician
to join our team. This role involves rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, fabricating hydraulic hoses/lines, performing general hydraulic and mechanical repair work, and carrying out basic machining tasks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and some machining background to support precision repair work.
Responsibilities
Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders of various sizes.
Fabricate, assemble, and test hydraulic hoses and fittings.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic system components (pumps, valves, motors, cylinders).
Perform general mechanical repairs on equipment as required.
Operate lathes, mills, or other machine tools for repair and fabrication work.
Measure and machine parts to tolerance for hydraulic and mechanical assemblies.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Occasionally assist with field service calls (if applicable).
Qualifications
Previous experience in hydraulic repair, heavy equipment repair, or related mechanical trade.
Machining background (lathe, milling, or related experience) is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, fittings, and hose assembly.
Proficient with measuring tools, shop equipment, and hand/power tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physically capable of handling and lifting heavy components.
Welding experience (an asset, but not required).
