The Opportunity

The Industrial Mechanic/Millwright/Hydraulic Field Technician is primarily responsible for the troubleshooting and repair/service of various hydraulic components or systems. Test/Rebuild of Hydraulic system components to verify acceptable results. Perform on-site motor installation and laser alignments, vibration analysis and mechanical repair of electric motors and generators. The Industrial Mechanic/Millwright/ Hydraulic Technician will work with a dedicated and experienced team of talented professionals. The Role

  • Repair build service and troubleshoot various hydraulic components or systems
  • Test components or systems to verify acceptable results
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times to ensure the maintenance of a safe work area
  • Coordinate and carryout assigned tasks in accordance with Company Safety, QMS, HR and all Company policies, procedures and expectations
  • Follow detailed criteria and procedure defined by accredited programs such as CSA, EASA etc. regarding precise tolerances and repair requirements
  • Dismantle and reassembly of rotating equipment
  • Complete estimate with a detailed analysis of condition and cause of failure, measure all mechanical fits, determine bearing type, size, seals, shields etc., document bearing arrangement, remove and install bearings, identify parts for proper assembly, properly store and clean parts, withdraw materials and re-assemble
  • Record vibration data
  • Required to use all hand tooling, torches, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of rotating equipment issues
  • Verify measurement of other technicians work to meet ISO requirements
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment
  • Field Service including on-site mechanical inspections and repairs, equipment installation and laser-alignment. Approx. 75% Field and 25% Shop
  • Actively participate in and adhere to The Company\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety Management System Program and any/all legislative requirements relevant to your position and the work you perform.
  • Overtime required by business needs
  • Participation in the On-Call rotation
  • Additional responsibilities, as requested.
The Candidate
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a service capacity with rotating equipment
  • Graduate Engineer (mechanical or electrical), or Journeyman tradesperson E.M.S.T - C.E.T - or E.I.T
  • Experience in data acquisition, vibration analysis and field balancing preferred. CAT II or above an asset.
  • Strong time management skills including, experience successfully managing many small projects at one time
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) and computer skills
  • Ability to problem solve on site and under time constraints
  • Ability to work on customers site with limited supervision.
