Be our next Hydraulic Design Engineer

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will join our fun-loving team of engineering and architecture professionals at 1133 Regent Street in Fredericton, who play a leading role in some of the region\'s largest infrastructure projects as well as collaborate with EXP team members across North America on some very large and challenging infrastructure projects in other jurisdictions! You may also choose to take advantage of EXP\'s flexible and hybrid work model.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Analysis and design of culverts, storm sewer systems, stormwater management facilities, open channels, and bridge hydraulics.
  • Preparation and compilation of permit applications and technical reports for approval by regulatory authorities.
  • Participation in a variety of hydraulic/culvert projects from proposal stage, planning, design and through construction.
  • Preparation of engineering reports, drawings, specifications, cost analysis.
  • Construction contract administration.
  • Monitoring of project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Coordination with client project managers, stakeholders, and design team members for effective project delivery.
  • Working with other transportation staff and departments to complete projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and work plans for new assignments.
What your experience looks like
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) from APEGNB.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent time-management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
  • Proficiency in relevant modelling software such as PCSWMM.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with MS-Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to place a high emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
