Job Summary

In this position, the HVAC technician will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of HVAC systems in residential and commercial buildings. Our company offers on-the-job training and yearly wage increases as your skills develop. Starting pay is determined upon skills and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Complete HVAC and other related in-home, service calls. Serving the clients of the company by expertly servicing customers' entire HVAC system. Wear floor savers while in the client's home and maintaining a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service. Always explain to the client what service you are performing. Explain and show the client how the company provides superior service. Understand your sales criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals. Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services. Re-check all HVAC repairs and installations after you've repaired or replaced it, before leaving the client's home to ensure everything is working properly and that we did indeed fix it right the first time. Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans. Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. Maintain your truck so that it is neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the "billboard" when possible. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules. Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck. Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving. Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats. Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
Minimum Qualifications

Red Seal Refrigeration (preferred not required) Class B Gas Ticket (preferred not required) In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems Understanding of the current regulations within the field Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level Able to work both independently and as part of a team General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use HVAC troubleshooting and repair Provide an acceptable driver's abstract and maintain a valid driver's license Strong customer service skills

Physical Demands:



Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted Operate handheld power tools Wear personal protective equipment

Working Environment:



Work outside in all weather conditions Ability to work on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours The Technician may work in awkward environments and will have to carry all required equipment and supplies at all times.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Nanaimo, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:

HVAC: 4 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person
