Dycar Pharmaceuticals, a growing privately-owned Cannabis company with a facility in Cranbrook, BC, is looking for an HVAC Technician. This position reports into the Chief Power Engineer and is responsible for performing general building and property maintenance including all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and all associated equipment. Dycar has a complex HVAC system with the need for a dedicated person to assist with building systems maintenance and operation. This is a full-time Monday-Friday position based in our Cranbrook facility. Some on-call, evening, and weekend work will be required. Perform maintenance on a variety of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and other equipment and systems depending on cannabis cycle needs to ensure efficient operation.
Provide suggestions for enhancement and repair of facility, HVAC, mechanical, electrical equipment, system conditions to ensure compliance and safety.
Perform other general facility maintenance including painting, repairs, and snow removal.
Assist Chief Engineer in the implementation of a preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded, and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.
Identify and procure parts needed to complete repairs to building systems and develop spare parts inventory.
Maintain up to date maintenance logs and reports.
Collaborate with other departments to schedule facility maintenance to maximize operational efficiency and minimize production costs.

Assist with training and ongoing development of the Facility Technicians.
Ensure all employees are following safe work procedures, Work Safe BC guidelines, and all company health and safety standards.
Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership, planning, scheduling, communication, and teambuilding skills.
Ability to proactively problem solve, and trouble shoot dynamic situations.
Organizing and prioritizing your work to meet deadlines and can adapt to unexpected priorities.
Basic computer skills in Microsoft suite.
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, lift items up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and to walk on slippery surfaces and outside on uneven terrain between the facility and office.
Ability to work in environments with variable temperatures and humidity, and variable lighting.
Education & Experience
3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in building systems (HVAC) maintenance, and/or ammonia refrigeration plant maintenance.
Interprovincial Journeyperson HVAC certification.
A class b gasfitter ticket would be an asset.
Refrigeration safety aware and a refrigeration plant operator certificate are preferred but can be provided for the successful candidate.
Previous leadership experience in a facility environment would be an asset.
Knowledge of building maintenance regulations and best practices.
Must be able to obtain a Health Canada Security Cleared individual (SCI) certification.
