Location - This is an in-person role with potential work locations at one or more of the following UofA sites: North Campus (Edmonton), Campus Saint-Jean (Edmonton), and South Campus (Edmonton).
Position Summary
The HVAC Filter Technician monitors and maintains the filters within air distribution systems on campus. This Technician ensures that air quality standards are met and that related HVAC systems remain in safe working order.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled visual inspections of air filters in various laboratory, teaching, office and mechanical room areas.
  • Following all University safety policies and procedures, remove and safely dispose of dirty filters and replace with appropriate filter media.
  • Following all University Safety policies and procedures clean heating and cooling coils using water, steam or other applications.
  • Lubricate damper sections and clean air handling unit intakes, and plenums.
  • Using the Building Automation System (BAS) monitor differential pressure readings to determine life expectancy of air filters and forecast upcoming replacements.
  • Maintain appropriate filter inventory on campus.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid class 5 divers license and qualify for institutional driving privileges
  • NCT level 1 National Air Filtration Association certification is an asset
