for the Fall 2024 semesterDISCIPLINE: HUMANITIES/PHILOSOPHY/RELIGION (345)
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Part-time contract representing full and/or part-time workload.
N.B. This vacancy is to replace an instructor away on an authorized leave and will terminate, without prior notice, upon the return of the instructor.
AREA OF EXPERTISE: To teach Humanities/Philosophy/Religion and/or Social Science Research Methods courses to students enrolled in pre-university and/or professional programs.QUALIFICATIONS:HUMANITIES (345) PHILOSOPHY (340) RELIGION (370)

  • Master\'s degree in a related discipline(s) to be taught or equivalent*
  • Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
  • Knowledge of Quantitative and Research Methods in the Social Sciences preferred
  • Ability to collaborate within a departmental team to achieve common objectives
  • Excellent English communication skills essential
  • Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue fran\xc3\xa7aise, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French
  • Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems
The Humanities, Philosophy and Religion department is actively seeking teachers with knowledge in the following areas:
  • Critical approaches to teaching that are attentive to intersectional oppression and forms of social marginalization across the disciplines
  • Indigenous worldviews, knowledges and pedagogies
  • Theoretical and cultural production from the Global South and from marginalized communities
  • Climate crisis impacts and climate justice
  • Critical approaches to issues in contemporary media
  • The arts and their socio-cultural context
