The Ottawa Heart Institute Research Corporation (OHIRC)
This role will work within the Ottawa Heart Institute Research Corporation (OHIRC) Human Resources to enhance the depth and breadth of the services offered in the areas related to classification, staffing and recruitment. Reporting to the OHIRC - Human Resources, Manager and joining a small team whose function is to provide the full range of Human Resources and related administrative services to the staff of the Ottawa Heart Institute Research Corporation (OHIRC), University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation (UOHIF).

Staffing/Recruitment
Ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal policies related to staffing and position management.
Develop, validate/finalize the content of the posting for internal and external compliance including coordination with Translation Services and publishing.
Work closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
Coordinate the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles.
Manage the Sharepoint dedicated site for dissemination of the applicants' resumes, tracking of recruitment stages and ensuring compliance with labor regulations and internal policies.
Provide guidance to hiring managers on best practices in interviewing and selection processes.
May participate in the selection process by; participating in the interviews, creating job description aligned interview protocols, providing feedback, and assisting in making hiring decisions that align with our organizational culture and values.
Facilitate a seamless recruitment experience.
Assist client areas with all matters pertaining to compensation and classification including creating or updating job descriptions for submission for job evaluation.
Responsible for maintaining the classification of positions within the organization, ensuring that each role is accurately described and aligned with our strategic objectives.
Form relationships with internal management teams to know the ins and outs of their departments and better understand their human resources needs.
Support the ongoing development and maintenance of tools for the team as well as resources for leaders and team members across the organization engaging in classification, compensation and job evaluation processes.
Ensure alignment with position management principles while ensuring the appropriate approvals are in place for job descriptions and compensation matters.
Participate in the review, analysis and classification of new and existing job descriptions, perform job audits and make recommendations.
Serve as a subject matter expert and contribute to the implementation, development and maintenance of consistent practices to maintain an effective and efficient classification and compensation system for the institute and within the existing policies and procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to staffing and classification.

Onboarding new staff
Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
Provide support in the management of the HR requests.
Provide support in the drafting and finalizing of Employment Agreements.

Client service
Provide support for staff related inquires through the HR mailbox.
Other duties and tasks may be required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years proven experience in classification and staffing coordination or similar role in HR.
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP), or equivalent HR designation, is an asset.
Competencies
Superior client service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficient in HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite and other related software tools for data management and analysis.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
Bilingualism (French/English) will be considered an asset.
