Human Resources Service Partner

Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a full-time, 40 hour per week, Human Resources Service Partner, located in Edmonton, Alberta.

About the Role

Every day will be challenging and exciting!

You will provide timely and effective human resources (HR) support on a wide range of areas, including employee relations, recruitment and selection, disability management, performance management, and employment standards.

You\'ll be responsible for:

  • Providing advice and guidance to leaders with respect to managing people and creating a positive working environment aligned with the Agency\'s values
  • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to supervisors and managers, including coaching, performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline
  • Conducting complex employee relations investigations as needed
  • Attending staff, supervisory, and recruitment meetings to provide updates on HR practices as well as answering questions regarding HR processes and changes
  • Consulting as required with supervisors on employee-related questions including job-protected leaves, policy interpretation, and program changes
  • Visiting programs as necessary to meet with staff, and facilitate HR processes and communications
  • Participating in and supporting special projects and tasks related to the Human Resources function, including policy updates, process mapping/revision, HR documentation updates, etc.
  • Maintaining in depth knowledge of legal requirements and labour standards related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance
  • Drafting employee communications as it relates to performance management and changes in employment
  • Administering recruiting tools and applicant tracking systems, including job postings, reference checks, onboarding requirements, etc.
About You

You are patient, calm, and approachable. You have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. You have solid problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions. You are able to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

You are skilled in both written and verbal communication, and look for opportunities to align Agency goals with your day-to-day responsibilities. You exhibit a high standard of professional boundaries while effectively collaborating with your team and co-workers.

Requirements: Education & Experience

You must have:
  • Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • 5 years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist role
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • A clear Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate
