We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Senior HR Generalist (15-Month Contract).
As a key member of the HR team, the Senior HR Generalist will play an important role in driving people-focused initiatives that directly impact both unionized and non-unionized workforces. This position offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and organizational culture while supporting leadership and employees across the business.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Provide guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and best practices for both unionized and non-unionized staff.
Lead employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, and grievance management.
Support collective agreement interpretation and provide advice to managers on union matters.
Partner with leadership to coach and develop managers on performance management, training, and employee engagement.
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet business objectives.
Contribute to policy development, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
Assist with organizational development projects and change management initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements:
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct exposure to both unionized and non-unionized environments.
Solid knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
Proven experience handling employee relations, grievance processes, and performance management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Requirements:
CHRP/CHRL designation (or working toward designation).
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
Strong facilitation and coaching skills to support leaders at all levels.
Previous involvement in HR projects such as engagement surveys, policy updates, or system implementations.
Location: Niagara Region, Ontario
Salary Range: $30-38/hr
