About IBEW Local 258 IBEW Local 258 is a union that represents about 4000 workers in the electrical industry which includes the Electric Utility, Power Line Contractors, Utility Arborists, Electric Manufacturing, Civil Utility Construction, Independent Power Producers, and Traffic Control across British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. IBEW Local 258 was chartered in 1967 in Vancouver British Columbia. In 2019 we moved into our new office located in Langley. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Human Resources & Office Manager Local 258 is looking for an experience professional to manage our office. You will be responsible for overseeing our administrative employees who work under a collective agreement. You will be responsible to ensure that our employees are completing their assigned work on time. You will ensure all work meets an exceptional standard of quality. You will be asked to develop work procedures and improve the workflow and business processes. It is expected that you will enforce any and all workplace policies. You will conduct investigations into violations of policies and will administer discipline if necessary. You will oversee hiring, onboarding, training, promotions, demotions, grievances and terminations. Local 258 participates in a strata and you will sit on the strata committee. You will be the point of contact between Local 258 and the strata. Local 258 also has three commercial tenants who rent office space from us. You will be expected to manage our relationships with our tenants. You will ensure rent is collected on time and you will be responsible for upholding the lease agreement. You will arrange for any repairs or maintenance in which Local 258 may be responsible for. You will ensure that lease agreements are renewed as they expire and you will be responsible for replacing any tenant who may vacate our unit. Local 258 has a variety of contracts for office related services. You will be expected administer these contracts and to ensure supplies/inventory are in stock. Examples include but are not limited to: internet, phones, office supplies, printers, coffee, cleaning supplies, cleaning contractor, IT contractor, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Calendar, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and with others in an office environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational abilities and is highly detail oriented.
  • Exhibits superior critical thinking and analytical skills.
Education and Experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a human resources position.
  • Experience managing a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Grade 12.
  • Bachelor or Diploma in a Human Resources discipline and/or a Bachelor or Diploma in a Business discipline.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, the Labour Relations Code, and other relevant legislation.
Work Environment
  • Works a 7.5 hour day from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Spends time in a climate controlled private office setting.
  • Interacts with staff in all departments.

Compensation The Human Resources & Office Manager is a salaried position paid at $55.31 per hour for 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $55.31 per hour Benefits:
