We're looking for a
Temporary
Human Resources Manager
for an 18-month assignment for maternity leave coverage. This position will support employees across our McNairn Packaging manufacturing facility in
Whitby, ON
and 511 Food Service facility in
Milton, ON
.
Work location:
This position is on-site in our Whitby, ON facility Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. The facility address is 125 Consumers Dr, Whitby, ON L1N 1C4, Canada. This position requires travel to the Milton, ON site 1 day per month.
Pay Rate:
this role pays a salary of $80,000 annually.
Position Overview:
The
Human Resources Manager (HRM
) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes for a facility or facilities. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance labor laws. The HRM will collaborate with department heads to align human resources strategies with company goals and contribute to overall employee satisfaction and organization growth while ensuring a productive positive work environment.
What you will do:
Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts
Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations, and recordkeeping to minimize legal risks
Communicate HR policies and procedures and ensure they align with company goals and legal requirements
Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives
Oversee the performance management process end to end, including goal setting, corrective actions, performance appraisals, and terminations
Collaborate with L&D to deliver required training programs and identify training needs to enhance employee skills and career development
Develop initiatives to boost morale and retain top talent
Serve as advisor to business leaders to resolve employee issues and concerns
What we look for:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field of study preferred but not required
3-5 years of experience in "generalist" role within human resources
3-5 years of experience using HR Systems
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships at all levels of the organization
Exceptional communication, problem solving, and influence skills
Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems and Office 365
High degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
Be able to work independently, adjust priorities quickly, and adapt to frequent changes to workload
