Position: Human Resources Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Teacher Portfolio (Exempt) Department: Human Resources Reports to: Director, Human Resources Salary Scale: $88, 941 - $111,176 Summary: Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources will provide leadership, consultation, coaching and guidance on a wide range of human resources programs, employee relations, processes and initiatives. The Manager, Human Resources will be and educational leader, responsible for the PGDTA portfolio, and supporting the human resources functions that are aligned with student learning. Responsibilities:
Develops strong working relationships and works collaboratively with schools, departments, Unions and Associations
Demonstrates and promotes innovation and strategic human resources solutions to people-related matters that promote a positive workplace culture, engagement and inclusion
Provides advice, support and consistency regarding human resource-related matters, in accordance with professional human resource practices, corporate policies and procedures, related collective agreements, labour legislation and regulations
Facilitates resolution for teacher disputes and grievances regarding interpretation of collective agreements, labour legislation, and human resources policies and practices
Oversees the casual teaching positions
Responds to employee concerns and leads confidential workplace investigations, and discipline processes
Develops and executes the full life-cycle of recruitment for Teacher positions
Develops a talent acquisition strategy that supports the district\xe2\x80\x99s recruitment and retention plan
Updates and maintains teacher seniority and service record lists
Coordinates teacher employee records. Contracts, qualifications, experience verification, leaves, attendance support, accommodation and disability management
Assesses qualifications and experience for Teachers, TQS Category Requirements
Coordinates Teacher secondments, exchanges, and deferred salary leaves
Liaises with external agencies including post-secondary institutions, other school districts and regulatory bodies
Works in collaboration with department resource staff
Prepares reports on areas of the human resources functions such as attendance, recruitment, retention and engagement
Commits to creating a workplace that fosters a culture of belonging, diversity and inclusion by attracting, retaining, and developing a talented and diverse workforce
Able to travel from time to time for recruitment and retention
Stays current with sound educational practice and pedagogy to support and enhance teacher recruitment
Stays current with effective human resources trends and practices to support the business side of the organization
Provides leadership for the Employee Family Assistant Program Committee (EFAP) and track/ promote the program usage.

Required Knowledge, Education & Experience:
5-7 years of relevant experience of progressive HR roles in a multi-site unionized setting including excellent knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, regulations, and guidelines
A degree in Human Resources Management, Educational Leadership, or a related field
A CPHR designation is an asset.
Experience within in the K-12 sector
