The Opportunity: As the HR Manager, you support to all HR functions with a focus on programs and policies, performance management, employee relations, compensation planning, training and development, and recruitment. You are required to lead strategic HR initiatives and provide HR expertise at the leadership table, while maintaining focus on the day-to-day operations. This role will support HR functions across all divisions of the business, including the retail, warehouse, and administrative teams. The successful candidate will be required to work cross-functionally with various departments, provide guidance to managers in all divisions of the business, and make sound business decisions to maximize the impact of strategic HR initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement initiatives that are aligned with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives
  • Provide HR guidance and perspective at semi-monthly leadership team meetings
  • Oversee the maintenance of HR programs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage employee relations for all administrative and management team members
  • Provide regular communication with employees regarding new initiatives, policy changes, and company updates
  • Train and coach to managers in carrying out HR responsibilities, including performance management, policy compliance, personnel issues, and recruitment practices
  • Update the employee policy manual, employment agreements, and other documentation to maintain compliance and minimize liability
  • Complete performance review meetings and provide feedback to administrative and management team members
  • Monitor and address performance improvement issues with non-performing employees, and process employment terminations, transfers, and retirements as required
  • Assist and provide guidance on the development of training programs, content, and manuals to address knowledge gaps within the business
  • Lead the performance review process, complete market research to develop and maintain salary bands, and provide compensation recommendations
  • Complete staffing forecasts and manage the annual HR and payroll budgets
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions for current and new positions
  • Carry out full-cycle recruitment for administrative and management level positions
  • Optimize utilization of the HRIS and implement new features as they are released
  • Complete regular and ad-hoc reporting on HR metrics and present recommendations to the leadership team or board as required
  • Complete and assist with other tasks and projects as required
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
  • 5+ years related or equivalent HR experience
  • Experience leading and managing projects
  • Reliable, confidential, and professional
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset, but not a requirement
