Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing HR business support to a specific sector group including senior leaders by partnering with business leaders and consulting in all HR functional areas to drive business results.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Human Resources Manager, here are the things we\'d need you to be great at:

  • Provide confidential operational guidance, counsel and support to leaders in all functional HR areas including employee relations, performance and career development, employment litigation and liability, employee engagement and retention, and workforce planning
  • Provide guidance on, and interpretation of, all People & Culture policies, processes and procedures; oversee the development and implementation of People & Culture programs that result in improving business productivity, efficiencies, and retention
  • Serve as subject matter expert on provincial laws and case law.
  • Develop relationships with business leaders to foster ongoing and open conversation and trust; serve as leadership coach and confidant, providing counsel and feedback necessary to optimize leadership effectiveness throughout assigned client groups
  • Oversees and updates management development and associate training programs and ensures such standards are accomplished
  • Oversees yearly, quarterly, and monthly associate training according to Compass and client objectives
  • Fosters strong relationships with operations team by making accessibility and responsiveness a priority
  • Acts as a resource for managers on associate relations
  • Effectively and efficiently runs check-in of all employees on event days
  • Assist throughout the business when needed (in stands, delivering product to locations, assembling orders or food, cashier, cook, pour drinks) as needed
  • Oversees all on-site Human Resource functions and effectively collaborates with Compass corporate Human Resources team
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open amongst management and hourly associates.
  • Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Compass systems (Purchasing Systems, Point of Sale, Timekeeping systems, HRSC, and more)
  • Maintains and audits all team member employment files to ensure all Compass guidelines are maintained
  • Distributes and manages important communication to employees including changes, updates and responsibility for uniform programs (distributing to new employees and collecting from employees who exit employment contracts)

  • Strong ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of the organization as well as build and maintain credibility at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests, and associates by speaking and comprehending English
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains
  • Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift given the nature of work environment
