Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Maintain policies and procedures. Develop, modify and implement (if required).
Conduct bi-weekly payroll for Belwood Poultry, Issue ROE's.
Answer inquiries about payroll, benefits, ESA, policies and procedures for all three locations.
Weekly/Bi-weekly/Monthly invoice review and cheque requisitions for accounting department (Garnishments, WSIB, Group Benefits, Temporary Employment Agencies etc.)
Provide leadership and coaching to managers, supervisors and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
Administer progressive disciplinary action as required.
Employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met.
Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations. Chair the health and safety committee for all locations including the scheduling of Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings (Meeting minutes).
Manage employee's modified work, return to work and ongoing management of WSIB claims.
Manage and maintain non-work-related medical claims including Long Term Disability.
Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations.
Maintenance of employee files and all employee document changes.
Arrange and serve employee appreciation lunches and other gatherings (ex) Christmas Party, Birthdays
Manage employee incentive programs.
Manage employment contracts.
Determine staffing requirements and oversee the hiring of staff for all hourly, temporary employees, salaried positions and oversee employee schedules based on business requirements consistent with set budgeted numbers.
Oversee orientation/onboarding of new employees.
Review/Approve with managers employee vacation requests and monitor vacation schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Manage compliance and investigations for Ministry of Labour complaints and concerns.
Assist with intercompany employee relations, questions, concerns and policies.

Requirements:
Five years of experience in human resources.
Proven ability to develop and implement training and development courses
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation specific to the processing industry
Strong conflict resolution skills
Experience administering progressive discipline
Experience managing LTD, and return to work programs
Computer proficient, competency in Excel, Word, Outlook
Understanding of BRC and FSEP/HACCP Program
