Rockland Landscaping Supplies Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR/Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. In addition to traditional HR functions, this role will encompass responsibilities related to health and safety management. The HR/Health & Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our employees and maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to onboarding new hires.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
Assist in processing payroll accurately and timely, including verifying timekeeping records and resolving discrepancies.
Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Oversee health and safety initiatives, including conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and organizing training programs.
Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety-related inquiries and incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Help develops and manages the health and Safety program to ensure worker safety and compliance with relevant legislation and reduce service liability.
Recommend, develop, and coordinate as part of the customized health and safety educational programs, the health and safety management system and promote safe work ethics in all areas of the facility.
Conducts safety program audits.
Attends as a management representative and serves as a resource to the JHSC committee.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and well-being throughout the organization.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
Proven experience in HR and health and safety management roles.
In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legislation, as well as health and safety regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have the ability to take initiative in the workplace and be excited to take on new challenges as they arise.
Must provide a criminal record check.
