Human Resources Generalist

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will be part of the Human Resources (HR) Department. You will collaborate with others regarding the following functions: compensation, payroll, talent management, recruitment, HR systems and various human resources teams at sites and regional offices. You will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and execution on Agnico's annual people's processes which include but are not limited to performance management, salary progressions, succession planning and 9Box, workforce management and the year-end process.
Supervise one or more Human Resources professionals (e.g., Human Resources Analyst).
Manage end-to-end recruitment in collaboration with the Recruitment Hub, including:
Securing approvals and developing job descriptions.
Aligning roles with workforce plans, cost centers, and work locations.
Facilitating communication between recruiters and hiring managers.
Interviewing final candidates and preparing compensation recommendations and offers.
Support the HR Director and employees with annual succession planning, 9-box assessments, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Coordinate annual salary and performance review processes in partnership with the HR Director and Compensation team.
Monitor legislative changes (e.g., ESA), update existing policies, and develop new ones as required.
Advise managers on employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, policy reviews, and action plans.
Plan and coordinate employee training programs (e.g., leadership development, health & safety, AODA compliance).
Lead immigration and relocation processes for expatriate assignees.
Develop accommodation plans for employees returning after injury or illness.
Respond to inquiries regarding HR processes, programs, policies, benefits, and leaves.
Partner with the HR Director on Great Place to Work (GPTW) initiatives, including survey coordination, data collection, and presentation development.
Collaborate with the Communications team on messaging related to organizational changes, employee programs, and critical HR updates.
Respond to Corporate Office Suggestion Box submissions.
Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or any other relevant program;
Hold a CHRP or CHRL designation;
Ten (10) years of experience in human resources;
Mining or other heavy industry experience;
Experience as a supervisor is considered an asset;
French language skills are considered an asset.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON.
