Position Overview:

As a Human Resources Generalist, you'll be at the heart of our HR operations, managing key functions such as recruitment and selection, performance management, onboarding, training and development, employee relations, compensation, and health and safety. In this dynamic role, you'll also have the exciting opportunity to support our payroll function and act as a back-up to the Payroll Specialist. This is a fantastic chance to expand your payroll expertise, enhance your Dayforce skills, and make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and energetic team.



Key Responsibilities:



Partner closely with the HR team to execute HR operational processes and services, focusing on employee life cycle and data integrity. Recruit new employees using proactive strategies and manage the recruitment lifecycle. Enhance and manage our onboarding experience for new employees for all departments and execute offboarding. Become an HR technology super-user, identifying ways we can get the most from our tools and shift towards further automating our processes while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data. Partner with our finance team on payroll information, processes and information flow related to payroll. Be the first point of contact for employees focusing on issues related to policy, programs, processes and legislation, responding to inquiries, managing requests and problem-solving to provide effective solutions. Manage and document all stages of the employee lifecycle in Dayforce. Support and execute the annual performance management program. Coordinate learning events and facilitate training programs. Engage in continuous improvement projects to optimize HR processes. Collaborate with the national HR team on projects and support HR representatives across the country. Play a role in the planning and execution of team events and initiatives, fostering a culture of celebration and belonging. Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. Stay updated on compliance requirements and industry best practices.

Qualifications:



Undergraduate degree in a related field with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, or a certificate or diploma in Human Resources with 4 to 6 years of experience. Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) or working towards certification is an asset. Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems; experience with Dayforce is a strong asset. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with a preference for advanced proficiency in Excel. Solid knowledge of HR best practices, policies, procedures, and employment-related legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong sense of ethics and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
