Human Resources Generalist (12 To 18 Months Maternity Leave Contract)

Job Description

The HR Generalist (Contract) will provide coverage during a maternity leave period and will undertake a wide range of HR and Office Management tasks to support the clinic and will act as the main point of contact for employees' queries on HR-related topics. This is a key role in the organization and reports directly to the Clinical Director. This is a standalone position.

Manage recruitment process for candidates across all positions; maintain relationships with schools, job fairs, and agencies Screen, assess and select most qualified candidates, lead the on-boarding process for all new hires and the off-boarding for employees exiting the clinic Implement, administer and enforce employee policies and promote positive employee relations Develop job postings, job descriptions and maintain organizational charts and work-flow charts Administer payroll and benefit processing, tracking attendance and use of vacation days Assist with employee benefits, tuition reimbursement and other employee programs Compile and provide weekly/monthly reporting on billable hours and other such metrics for practitioners and admin staff Implement company programs to increase morale, such as practitioner recognition days, social and annual holiday events Assist with the development and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Plan Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination and severance letters Manage and monitor performance-related issues and suggest changes that could increase productivity Act as the Office Manager and respond to all office related questions to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic including sourcing, purchasing, assisting with expansion plans and other related tasks Liaise with Etobicoke office, assist with future clinic expansions Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS



Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field. A combination of education and work experience will be considered. Minimum of three (3) years' direct work experience in an HR Generalist or similar role A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to Human Resources Significant knowledge of the hiring and onboarding process Excellent judgement, problem-solving skills and strong work ethic Knowledge about conflict and resolution management Strong decision-making, planning and implementation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to manage multiple priorities; some with competing deadlines Able to work independently and as a member of a team of diverse contributors Proficiency in software like MS Office and Google Docs

WORKING CONDITIONS



Typical physical demands required to perform the work in a multi-disciplinary office/clinic environment, frequent requirement for prolonged use of computer, phone and other business machinery. There is a frequent need to exert mental effort including prioritizing multiple projects and unpredictable demands for assistance or interruptions from management and employees Work is performed in area that is adequately lighted and ventilated
