Job Summary

Lucky Supermarket is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented

Human Resources Specialist

to support HR operations at our Edmonton locations. In this role, you'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of our store workforce by managing staffing, training, employee relations, and compliance. Your work will directly impact store performance, team morale, and the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Manage high-volume hiring for grocery roles such as cashiers, stock clerks, produce staff, and department leads. Screen applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate onboarding to ensure stores are fully staffed.

HR Operations & Scheduling Support

Collaborate with store managers on shift scheduling issues and coverage needs. Maintain employee records and scheduling Assist with payroll accuracy

Employee Relations & Compliance

Support employees with day-to-day HR inquiries related to schedules, pay, and workplace concerns. Help resolve workplace conflicts quickly and fairly. Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards (e.g., overtime, breaks, vacation, minimum wage).

Training & Development

Coordinate orientation and safety training for new hires. Assist with ongoing training for store staff and supervisors on topics like customer service, food safety, and harassment prevention.

Reporting & Data Entry

Track attendance, and training completion. Ensure timely and accurate data entry across systems and files.

Qualifications

Previous HR experience in a

retail, grocery, or food service setting

is strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with multilingual and diverse teams. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. Experience with recruiting, onboarding

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
