Reporting to the HR Manager, this full-time position based in Calgary is an instrumental part of the North American HR Operations team. The HR Coordinator will work closely with two HR Analysts, the HR Advisors, and Managers/Business Partners this role enables HR work and projects across the business. The HR Coordinator must be a team player with the ability to deliver superior customer service to all levels within the organization. The individual must be able to work in a fluid environment while managing multiple priorities. An accurate eye and a keen sense of database organization are key. This position is based at the De Beers Calgary Support Centre located at the Calgary International Airport. The schedule is currently a hybrid style consisting of two days in the office and three days at home. Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • As part of the HR Connect Team, acting as first point of contact for employees and managers, responding to HR queries, drafting employment-related letters, and completing HR forms, problem solving where needed and triaging as necessary, providing excellent and timely customer service;
  • Inputting, processing, verifying and maintaining accurate data and documentation related to employee life cycle changes;
  • Performing data audits to ensure the data is complete, consistent, accurate and up to date, and ensuring system integrity across all HR and connected systems;
  • Liaising with employees, managers and HR Advisors/Managers to ensure completeness and accurateness of the data in documents to be processed;
  • Liaising with Payroll to problem solve and ensure correct employee information in the pay systems;
  • Providing support to other areas of HR as needed, such as back-up for some Payroll processes and providing support to Recruitment activities;
  • Performing and advising on HR key project work, working with HR Advisors as well as business leaders, in order to support the achievement of HR objectives.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources;
  • At least two - three years of relevant HR related experience;
  • SAP, SuccessFactors and Dayforce experience preferred;
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Team player with ability to deliver quality customer service internally and externally;
  • Detailed and highly organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality and adapt to changing demands
  • Occasional travel to Gahco Kue Mine in the Northwest Territories;
  • HRIS experience. Experience with HCM SAP and/or Success Factors Employee Central (EC) is desirable;
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce (Time & Attendance, Payroll) would be an asset; and
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a lean, fast-paced, dynamic work environment, currently in a work-from-home setting.
