Human Resources & Employee Relations Manager
to join our team in an in-house capacity. This role will oversee all HR-related functions across two companies with approximately
20-23 employees
operating from
multiple locations throughout Ontario
.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our workforce, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, fostering positive employee relations, and contributing to the long-term growth and stability of both organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Employee Relations
Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and resolution on workplace issues
Foster a positive, professional, and compliant workplace culture across all locations
Support management with performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes
Recruitment, Hiring & Termination
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, screening, interviews, onboarding, and orientation
Oversee employee terminations, ensuring compliance with Ontario employment legislation and best practices
Develop and maintain consistent hiring and exit procedures
Employee Contracts & Compliance
Draft, review, and manage employee contracts, offer letters, and employment agreements
Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal employment standards
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
Health & Safety
Oversee workplace health and safety programs across all locations
Ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety regulations
Coordinate training, documentation, and incident reporting as required
Benefits Administration
Oversee employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and renewals
Act as liaison with benefits providers and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries
Customer & Internal Relations
Support internal customer service initiatives by promoting professionalism and consistency across teams
Collaborate with management to align HR practices with operational and customer service goals
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
HR certification required
(CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent)
Strong working knowledge of
Ontario employment and labor laws
Proven experience managing HR functions across multiple locations
Experience in employee relations, recruitment, terminations, and health & safety
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Ability to travel between company locations as required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently
Preferred Attributes
Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations
Background in manufacturing, construction, or trade-related industries is an asset
Hands-on, practical approach to HR in a growing business environment
