Reporting to the V.P. Operations this position is responsible for providing effective and efficient human resources services and administration support to the organization. Key Functions:
Developing and executing our HR initiatives
Acting as a leader; demonstrating the companies values and behavioral expectations
Oversee and serve as a member of the JHSC promoting the safety and well-being of all associates in the medical facility.
Managing labour and employee relations issues to improve sustainability and culture of the organization in a regulated workplace
Champion the investigation of employee relations issues including the development and implementation of recommendations
Ensure that the company operates in compliance with labour laws
Recruitment: overseeing and/or posting, interviewing, orientation and on-boarding of new employees
HR policy development, application and maintenance
Assisting with work systems & organizational effectiveness
Performance management processes
Site training and team development
HR information systems management and knowledge of the Payworks payroll/HR software system would be an asset
Disability and WSIB case management
Compliance activities and related systems
Business-wide HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Annual salary planning and performance review processes
Qualifications
5+ years of Human Resources experience and solid experience providing counsel to leaders and employees on issues.
5+ years working in a unionized environment, preferably a health care setting, ensuring positive relations and ability to manage constructive resolution to issues
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. (will consider equivalent combination of education and experience)
CHRP is a must or preferred, CHRL preferred
Strong knowledge of all pertinent Ontario employment law and occupational health law.
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build positive relationships across all levels of the organization, while also employing an adaptive style to fit a variety of personalities and situations
High degree of composure and able to build trust and maintain confidentiality as a key confidante of employees and management
A high degree of integrity and?proven ability to develop positive and supportive relationships?of trust at all levels of the organization

Comprehensive problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
Demonstrated strong facilitation and presentation skills
Demonstrated intermediate MS Office skills
