We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to lead day to day human resources support for the MMGY Global portfolio in Canada. The HRBP will be responsible for aligning HR and business objectives with employees and management in Canada. The position serves as an expert consultant to management and staff on human resource-related issues. The successful HRBP acts as a proactive employee champion and change agent, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively and professionally within the HR and other departments, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit\'s financial position, its mid-range plans, culture and its competition. Duties and responsibilities: MMGY is a fast-paced, collaborative, all hands environment, but typical duties of the HRBP will include, but not limited to:

  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business leaders, as needed
  • Consults with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of Canadian legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partners with the legal where needed/required
  • Provides performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Develops contract/offer terms for new hires, promotions and transfers, where appropriate and necessary
  • Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Ensures compliance with the changing HR laws impacting the designated offices/regions
  • Manage ad-hoc HR projects and performs all other duties, as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise a small HR support team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, or commensurate work experience
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years\' experience resolving complex HR and employee relations issues
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and respective employment laws
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment
  • Partnership approach to working with hiring managers as trusted advisor
  • Positive, up-beat demeanor with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d approach
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a balanced, neutral, and fair approach to work, consistently establishing oneself as the trusted voice in the room
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
Working conditions This position will generally work Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5PM in a traditional office setting with extended periods of sitting, and possible standing. Depending on workload and seasons, the position may require overtime, including evenings and weekends. This position will be based out of our Whistler, BC, Canada office, but may require some travel to other designated offices/regions where assigned (5-10%) Full COVID-19 vaccination is required for all business travel.
