ABOUT THE POSITION
Working closely with the Seed & Stone leaders and employees, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports a positive employee vibe (experience) through the implementation of HR best practices and leadership guidance of people practices in support of ambitious business growth. This role is the main point of contact for all HR and people matters, providing full-cycle HR operational support. The HRBP guides all of the day-to-day HR activities from creation and implementation of people policies, recruitment, employee and labor relations, talent management and coaching, development, health and safety, compensation, recognition and organizational design.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Implements and administers Seed & Stone people policies and promotes positive employee engagement and labor relations.
Leads and monitors performance-related matters and implements changes that align with best practices and encourages organizational productivity.
Provides recruiting oversight and candidate screening and assessment supporting hiring managers with all stages of talent acquisition from posting to selection and onboarding.
Partners with Accounting to support payroll and benefits administration.
Supports people leaders with HR matters, labor and employee relations.
Advises leaders on all labor relations matters including collective agreement administration, investigations, discipline, and grievances.
Guides the full employee life cycle from hire to departure.
Guides Seed & Stone's Health & Safety.
Oversees employee disability and leaves.
Assists with employee file management including working with the HRIS.
Provides training and guidance to people leaders on key HR best practices.
Aligns HR practices with organizational goals (it's prioritization and strategy).
Communicates engagement and people programs through emails and other mediums.
Supports diversity, inclusion and belonging activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Leadership.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
At least 4-5 years in progressive HR roles
Certificate, diploma or degree in HR Management or related field
Certified Professional in Human Resources Management, preferred
Experience working in a unionized environment, preferably with start-up and retail operations with strong grasp of employment standards legislation
Experience in the cannabis industry would be an asset
Collaborative team player with outstanding ability to work effectively with people at all levels of an organization to support a positive experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
Demonstrated proficiency in in HR policies, procedures and employment standards
Outstanding organizational, and problem-solving, skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Flexible, creative, and innovative team player
Discretion, common sense, and the ability to handle confidential information with reliability and professionally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, HRIS
Ability to travel to the various store locations throughout the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island
