As an HR Business Partner, you will be a key resource to management and staff providing a high level of proactive, human resources expertise that supports the employee life-cycle and aligns with the company's strategic and operational goals. Areas of specialization include talent management, employee relations, policies & procedures, HR reporting, performance management, legislative & compliance, organizational design, training & development, and HR best practices & programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner and collaborate with managers and staff to understand the business challenges and opportunities and work closely with the Director, People & Culture in the development and implementation of people and culture initiatives
  • Provide the highest quality of general HR support, advice, expertise, and daily guidance, while developing strong relationships with managers and staff in multiple locations
  • Understand, monitor, and advise on legislative matters, ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and implementation of internal HR systems, policies, forms, and procedures
  • Lead and assist in the development and evaluation of programs as well as refine and measure the effectiveness of HR processes and/or systems with best practices. Key areas of focus include workforce planning; total rewards and recognition; performance management; employee relations; policy development and implementation; employee engagement and retention; and HR metrics
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting
  • Research, analyze trends and have a full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
  • Provide employee relations guidance and education/coaching to leaders and staff on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and employment-related legislation
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and resources to leaders related to performance and attendance management processes, including situations requiring discipline or discharge
  • Participate with leaders as necessary in the resolution of employee relations issues. Act as an investigator in the complaint management process, including performing routine workplace investigations and making recommendations for resolution
  • Support and guide managers to meet their hiring needs by proposing the best recruitment and retention strategies as needed by managing the talent acquisition process: needs identification, drafting/revision of the job description, research and evaluation of required skills and competencies, candidate screening, interviews, compensation advice/recommendations, and negotiation, etc.
  • Support managers and new hires throughout the onboarding process to ensure a work experience that is consistent and positive
  • Actively participate in internal client team meetings as well as weekly HR team meetings
  • Actively contribute and participate on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee by encouraging dialogue that respectfully considers a wide variety of ideas, opinions, and suggestions
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or related discipline. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certification obtained or in progress
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources generalist experience
  • Dynamic team player with excellent written and verbal communications
  • A broad perspective and integrated knowledge of HR management practices and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking, with proven ability to apply best practice techniques, evaluate solutions, and make effective recommendations
  • Take the lead in designing and implementing effective employee programs/projects from start to finish
  • Able to develop, interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Able to approach situations from an objective perspective with tact and diplomacy, looking for resourceful solutions where possible
  • Results-oriented, adaptable, well organized, and able to balance competing priorities
  • Proficiency with computer applications - Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS experience
  • Highly developed client relations skills
