The Halifax Port Authority is seeking a dynamic and experienced

Human Resources Business Partner

to join our team. Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, this role is all about helping to shape a connected, high-performing, and resilient workplace--where people thrive, culture is strong, and strategy meets purpose.

What You'll Do:Support key HR initiatives and apply a proactive approach across various programs such as talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development Develop and implement a recruitment and retention strategy Champion a collaborative, values-driven workplace culture Assist with labour relations strategies and collective agreement interpretation Assist with HR policy and procedure development Work with communications to develop HR-related content to enhance engagement Assist with employee resource committee and related initiatives


What You Bring:Proactive approach to continuous improvement and managing change effectively 5 years in an HR generalist role, preferably within a unionized environment Experience with Systems (e.g. HRIS, ATS, payroll) Strong EQ, and next-level communication skills A passion for collaboration, innovation, and creating belonging
